    It's an old post, but I have to comment. Thank you so much for sharing this find. True every word!

    Paul's essay brings to mind an old favourite of mine: "Where do These People Get Their (Unoriginal) Ideas?" by Joel Spolsky, in which he talks about the flow.

    Why would I mind? A classic like this *needs* to be shared - the "kids" may have not read it. ;)

    Joel Spolsky's piece was written almost a decade ago, but is still as relevant as it was written yesterday. Flow is very important to me and lately I've suffered a lot from the lack of it. Planning to move to a cave house in Granada, away from everything (well, at least from the street and construction work noise), to write some decent code. Using a 3G modem connection, so as long as there's electricity for my laptop, I'm all set!
